Activities and tour companies in Cape Town

4 of my relatives are going to be Capetown for 3 days next month and have asked me for advice on what to do whilst they are there.

As they are fairly old (although still very agile!), they don't want to be doing activities non--stop, so I've recommended

Table Mountain

Robben Island

Day trip down to the Cape etc

They are staying in Camps Bay so will also have the opportunity to walk arounfd their at their leisure and will visit the V&A Waterfront in the evenings for food etc.

Is it best just to get a taxi to and from Table Mountain or is it better to combine this with Robben Island as part of an organised tour?

If they wanted a private tour (4 people) for the trip to the Cape etc, what should be on the itinerary, what should it cost, and who should they book with?!

Anything else they should be aware of??

Hi Sidicks

I would suggest to let them take the taxi from Camps Bay to the cable car to go up to the top of Table Mountain and then again a taxi from there to the harbour to get the boat to Robbin Island. Much cheaper that way.

For suggestions for the other days to explore the Cape Point, here you can hire a driver and vehicle or tour guide for the day. Prices might range from R2200 to about R3500.00 for the day, it depends who you will use. Highlights on this day: Houtbay and optional boat trip to Seal Island, Chapmans Peak Drive, Long Beach, Scarborough and Misty Cliffs, Cape Point Ostrich Farm, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope, Penguins at Bolders Beach, Simons Town, Muizenberg, Kalkbay and off course Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Do the studies on who you will use for the day and compare prices and see which one will be worth taking.

the red coloured Hop On Hop Off bus stops at most of the sights (and may even go down the Peninsular?). There is a stop at Camps Bay outside the Bay Hotel. I believe you can also buy a 2 day tickets which will enable you to visit Constantia also.
