Guest houses/self catering in Camps Bay

Have already had help with planning our garden route tour through the forums, and booked some lovely guest houses. Now trying to book our last 5 nights in Camps Bay area. We will have a hire car but would like to be able to walk to the beach. It seems like most places are a trek back up! Cape Rose Cottage sounds good, but not sure if it is walkable to anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions for a 4* guest house or somewhere with a limited amount of self catering facilities, up to 1500R a night, prefer a quieter area with garden and sea or mountain views if possible.

There are quite a few but look at the Bay Atlantic. Only about 150 metres from the seafront up a short hill, but in a quiet street with off-street parking. Bernie, David, Jennifer, family and staff will make you very welcome.

Double rooms around R1,500. Cheaper in the off-season and some smaller rooms which are quite a bit cheaper even at peak rates.

Look at the pictures and panorama on their website. Friends of ours from the UK stay there and go back time after time.

We stayed in a self catering appartment last year in Camps Bay. 5 to 10 mins walk to beach but very nice place to stay, lounge, small kitchen, bed room & en suite shower. Use of pool in garden. We found it on www.safarinow.com. "the Patch"If you go on this web page you will see some pictures & reviews. We can only agree with what others have said, particularly about Chris & Pat, who really added to our holiday. They picked us up at the airport & on our trip to the house gave us a guided tour of Cape town on the way! Very helpful. One other thing we found to be good were the hop on,hop off buses.

We had an amazing holiday-I'm sure you will too.

If you haven't sorted anything out yet book 'The Patch'.

We stayed in January at it was superb, just in the process of booking for next January.

It's only 10 mins walk down to the main restaurants and maybe 15 mins back up the hill. Depending how fit you are!

We love it in Camps Bay - a great place to end your holiday

Just come back from the Bay Atlantic - fab place, lovely people and in a perfect setting of being not too far from the restaurants ,beach etc but far enough away not to be kept awake by late openings etc.
