Hi Mike

Fo restaurants in Cape Town and surrounds (Camps Bay included), have a look at these online guides:

And for accommodation, it's probably the best to look at a few sites and compare rates. Depending on time of year you are visiting and your criteria for accommodation, you can find anything from budget to luxury. If you are coming in Peak or High Season, also have a look at Green Point which is cheaper than Camps Bay.

We have just returned from the Camps Bay Resort, they have some 2 bed apartments. it is very close to the beach and restaurants.

It is not a fancy place but very clean, there is a reception desk and the staff are very helpful. In our 1 bed apaprtment we had a basic kitchen with some tea, coffee and the usual little pots of milk which was great for our first morning. There was some washing up liquid, tea towel and dish cloth, the maid did all of our washing up though. Equipment included a kettle, caffetiere, cooker, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board plus plenty of cups/plates/glasses.

The TV was wall mounted and showed sky news and a decent amount of channels - not that we spent any time watching TV, however we did catch the severe weather stories in the UK in the week following New Year.

There are 2 pools with a limited amount of sun beds, there was a family there when we stayed and their little boy had great fun in the pool.

The 2 bed apartments do not include breakfast but the Pick and Pay supermarket is very close and has a good selection of all you would need for breakfast.

In reception is a laptop for guest's use, the cost is R30 for 30 mins internet access however by sitting close to reception I was able to send and receive emails on my ipod touch - no internet access on it though.

Pool towels are available from reception as are a selection of drinks including beers, wines and spirits. We did not find a liquor store in Camps Bay so did buy a bottle of wine and a few beers/ciders, they were not expensive.

There were no 'rowdy' guests when we were there, mostly families and couples and some guys travelling together for the cricket.

This was not our ideal choice of accomodation when booking last year as we kept getting fully booked responses from everywhere else but it turned out to be absolutely fine. Our apartment did get road noise but I think that the 2 bed properties are away from the main road. There is a busy late night bar nearby - Dizzy's but we did not get disturbed with noise from there. We will be taking our children again on our next trip and will stay there in a 2 bed apartment if in Camps Bay. Hope this helps, pm me if you want more info.
