What's going on at Xmas and New Year

Hi,

Planning our next trip it may coincide with spending Xmas as well as New Year on Aitutai.

Anyone know of anything special going on?

I guess like most everywhere Christmas is a gathering of family and most places will be closed but is there any special things happening?

Is Christmas celebrated on Christmas eve or on Christmas day (for some this may sound like a stupid question but it actually varies from country to country).

What about New Year? Anyone know of anything worth not to miss out on?

Cheers,

Magnus

Kia Orana Magnus,

Check with your accommodator to enquire if they have anything special planned for guests on Christmas Day (25th December) which is when we celebrate this occasion. It is also a public holiday as is the day following Christmas Day (boxing Day). Most of the resorts host a special Christmas Day menu.

Leading up to midnight on New Year's Eve, people tend to congregate at private parties, restaurants and sports clubs. It's possible that Aitutaki may host a public event in Arutanga. The Tourism office on Aitutaki can advise you about this when you arrive on the island.
