Drive from Quepos to Puerto Jimenez in late May. Possible?

Hi there,

My BF and I will be in Costa Rica late May and we're planning on driving from Quepos all the way down to Puerto Jimenez from 25th May to 29th May. We've booked a Bego 1500cc 4WD.

Considering May being the beginning of the rainy season:

- how doable is it to actually reach Puerto Jimenez w/ this vehicle?

- from which point/city/area you believe would be tricky to drive further?

- any route you would recommend?

Anyone who did this in May/June who could share how easy/complicated/impossible it was?

Many thanks in advance!

It is a paved road all the way to Puerto Jimenez so easily driveable any time of the year. The road that connects PJ with Carate can be tricky but that depends on actual rains. Basically only one way, Costanera till Palmar then a few km on PanAm then off towards PJ.
