Need a cook in Malpais...

I'm traveling in September to Malpais with some friends and we'd like to arrange a cook for about 4 days to do dinners. In google, it seems as though the option is really only to have a chef, at a cost of around $80+ per person per meal. Is anyone aware of any options around a local cook that can do some basic dinners, breakfasts, etc, for our stay?

We are also looking for a cook in Santa Teresa. Not a chef - just someone to cook simple, healthy meals for a group of 17 ages 7-75. We will be there for a week in late July.

Thanks!

We are trying to find an answer to the same question... looking for a cook (not chef) in Santa Teresa in late July. Have you found any leads?

HI there,

Would you mind PMing me any information you might have as well? We will be there for four nights around Christmas and would like to have someone cook for us as well, if possible, just one or maybe two nights--and definitely would like someone in for a typical tico breakfast one morning! Thanks

We are arriving on Dec 25 - Christmas day this year. I'm guessing all the restaurants will be closed and would love to know if there are any options for someone to help us with dinner that evening....

Many if not most restaurants will be open. This is one of the busiest holidays of the year and most beach towns are full of tourists. Many local businesses close on the 24th in the late afternoon and Christmas is celebrated that night and it is business as usual on the 25th. Most chefs and cooks are already booked for this time. If you are not into cooking, you might want to make reservations at a restaurant of choice a few days in advance.

There are many good restaurants to choose from depending on what type of food you enjoy. You can check the list of recommendations and reviews on TripAdvisor, they are quite accurate. If you find one that interests you, post any questions here that the reviews don't cover.
