There are several boats fishing out from the nearby Coco beach and Playa Hermosa. You could contact Jesus Mendez, he own a couple of sport fishing boats in the nearby Coco beach, his phone number: 506-397-3415 or his site: www.costa-rica-fishingtrips.com

You can also try some boats out of Ocotal...fishing is better some places around Tamarindo...most of the times fishing from Playa Hermosa they will look South of Hermosa...at the end you will have a lot of boat ride and little fishing...my suggestion go to Tamarindo...better fishing around there...less boat ride to the fishing places...

Just buckle up and enjoy the ride in paradise!!

Try Bob at Tranquilamar Charters He has 4 fishing boats and has been in Costa Rica for 15 years doing charters. He will pick you up right on the beach in Playa Hermosa for either a full day or half day charter. http://www.tranquilamar.com

Many of the local hotels use his services.

The time you will be there is right about the peak of the sailfish bite down around Quepos.

We are in Playas Del Coco right now and will be here for the next 3 weeks and wonder if the deep sea fishing would be good this time of year and what types of fish are running the best at this time. Thanks very much,

Jimmy

Drop into Louisiana Seafood on the main street. Bob from Tranquilimar owns the restaurant and can give you an update on what is hot right now. A friend just called me on his cell from sea......10 minutes from Carillo down south. He could hardly talk. He said a 1000 lb marlin just jumped up beside the boat...took a look at them and took off. They were not fishing but just one of those tall fishing tails I will hear for years!

You can catch fish at any time of the year in that area. Call Bob at Tranquilamar Charters or just ask around. There are lots of boats at Playas Del Coco. You can catch tuna, mahi mahi, wahoo, snapper, rooster fish and even sailfish and marlin. If you like to fish, I wouldn't miss the chance to go at least once. We usually go 2 or 3 times while we are there. The charters are very reasonably priced also, I'd go for a full day if you are going offshore.
