Hi ddriver2014,

Welcome to the forum!

Since you have a full day in Delhi, hiring a private car with driver would a great option where you would be able to cover all the monuments. The places that you can cover in Delhi includes Qutub Minar, Humayuns Tomb, Passing by President House, Parliament House and visit the India Gate, the lotus-shaped Bahai Temple, Red Fort, and Jama Masjid.

But believe me, there are many more places to visit, which just depends upon your personal interest. For example, if you would want to visit temples. There are many good temples - Akshardham Temple, Birla Temple, Jain Temple with bird hospital, Gauri Shankar temple, etc.

Regards,

Sonia Handa

The sightseeing in Delhi is widely spread out.

In the south of the city, there is Lotus Temple, Qutb Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Hauz Khas Tank and Ruins, and there's shopping at Dastkar Nature Bazaar, Khan Market, Santushti, Meharchand Market, Shahpur Jat, Lajpat Nagar.

To the east there is Akshardham.

In the north there is the Old Mughal city of Shahjahanabad and the British city that we called Lutyens Delhi.

And then there are museums, performances, etc.

It takes 3-4 days to do real justice to Delhi, at least. But if you have only 1 day, you can do a sort of highlights tour, either take the HOP-ON-HOP-OFF bus (if you are on a small budget) or a private guided car tour.

2. Lotus Temple (shut on Monday)

3. India Gate

4. Chandni Chowk

5. Dilli Haat (shopping for handicrafts)

Hi ddriver,

Hire a car and driver from many companies who offer a package for 8 hours. As mentioned the attractions of Delhi are spread over different areas, having one driver will facilitate your transfers and save your time. As for the shopping, chandni Chowk will give you a chance to experience window shopping, other areas to be visited for this purpose are Karol Bagh and Connaught place.

Enjoy

Hi

A day will be sufficient to visit major tourist monuments. Surely you need to hire a car and driver for your movement.

You can choose Sedan car or MUV car for city tour.

Sedan car will cost you 1800 and MUV Toyota Innova will cost you INR 2500 on 8 hours 80km basis.

If you want to be flexible than better to have a pre. negotiated rate for a car with a good driver who can show you the key places & take you for shopping of your interest. But a little research is earnestly recommended.Delhi is vast.
