Driving in Kosovo

Hello everyone,

I was hoping people could clear up some confusions I have regarding driving in Kosovo.

I am planning a trip from Skopje to Prizren driving along the R115, hiring the car with Uskuper.

I have been reading that in Kosovo you need insurance as soon as you enter the country, is this not covered by the green card that Uskuper is providing me?

I have also read that the main border crossing from Skopje to Kosovo was closed recently due to a land slide, is this open again now?

I do not have an international drivers licence, I have read that this isn't necessary but might be worth getting?

While we are here does anyone have any tips for me regarding driving in Kosovo?

Thanks!

You can buy it on the border. There should be some booths close to border post or even counter at the same building.

Kosovo is not participating at many international agreements and organizations due to limited international recognition. Green Card system is one of these.
