Two "must see" locations/cities in Morocco

With your travel experience in Morocco, if you were to plan the itinerary for a friend visiting Morocco for the first time, which two of these cities would you choose or recommend for two full days in Tangier? (we arrive @ 3PM Thurs, and leave at noon on Sunday): Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Asilah, Lixus, Larache? We are planning to see some highlights of Tangier on our arrival day/night.

Thank you for any insights.

Yes, I would spend two full days in Tangier. Maybe a day trip to Tetouan which is nice town with interesting Medina (even listed in Unesco).

Chefchaouen definitely.

I just spent 2 weeks on a tour through Morocco and every place is very different and fabulous. You need to decide on what it is you want to see.

We found Marrakesh fascinating. Spent 4 days there and in the surrounding area. Enjoyed Fes also. Found it very different.

Did not go to Tangier. We were told not to bother.

Telling some one who is going to tangier and asking for info on what to do there , not to go there on a 3rd partys advice . Is less then helpful. And for the record there is a lot to see in tangier , more then 2 days worth.

For Tangiers , I also think a side trip to Tetuan or Chefchouen ( not both) would be interesting and worth it.

But there is plenty to do if you want to just stay in tangier. Best thing you can do is read a good tour guide book like lonely planet or rough guide to figure out things you want to see.

Chefchauoen is like Santorini on blue steroids. If you like taking photos the Medina left of Square down hill and uphill on right have remarkable blue houses.

Internet info is had to get details on Morocco... A Morocco tour book is recommended-which we did not get!!
