How about on July? Is it a good time go to Phi Phi Island?

May to October is the rainy season on the west coast so while you may be lucky with the weather, you may experience heavy rains (for a short or long time) and the seas may be rough.

As this is low season and other reviewers have said above. There is no possible way that we can guarantee and recommend a perfect date for you to plan your holiday on PhiPhi Islands.

This is due to the yearly rainy or "monsoon" season that comes every year. While there are still plenty of great and sun filled days there is also days of heavy rain fall. While most days it does not rain the entire day Phi Phi is a small island with most of our activities centered around the outdoors, day trips, and boat tours.

We recommend if you plan to visit the islands please come for at least a few days so that you will have at least some time to take part in our beautiful island and all that is has to offer.

Finally when speaking with friends based in Phuket it does seem that Phuket west coast namely Patong, Karon, and Kata Beach do tend to experience more rainfall then we do here on Phi Phi. This is due to Thailand's micro-climates as Phuket is a much larger land mass it tends to attract more rainfall.

Same is true of Koh Tao vs Koh Samui. Koh Tao will experience less frequent all day rain fall then its much larger neighbor Koh Samui.

I was on Phi Phi a couple of years ago during September and October. It was still full of tourists and had beach parties and busy streets every night so don’t worry too much. Obviously it wasn’t as busy as other months but still a good atmosphere. It’s the wet season so expect a lot of rain and possible rough seas.

As weather patterns have changed all around the world in recent years it is hard to predict what will happen this year. But September is definitely not the best time to visit Phi Phi. Best of luck.
