Hello...I see all the hotels in Trancoso have nets over the beds. are there are a lot of bugs? or is it just mosquitoes?

Most all areas of Brazil have mosquitos during warm weather. Rooms with netting indicate that the room is not closed and does not have air conditioning, but perhaps just a fan.

Not everywhere! In my state if I want to see mosquitos you go to Araguaia river. There you need a cream or a Kind of oil you usually buy in drugstores to repel them when you are fishing or getting tan.

the more "tropical" the setting, the more bugs (beetles, other flying critters, ants, etc) you will see besides mosquitoes on the premises. if the hotel is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, there is not much that can be done in an environmentally correct way.

as a guest, what you can do is to remember to keep closed any doors/windows that do not have screens.... and leave that mosquito netting covering the bed at all times so that no critter can sneak in.

The Mata Atlantic that goes through the whole coast is kind of a rainforest. So it comes with everything a rainforest have.
