How much do things cost

Hi

Going to Turkey for the first time with my husband & 3 year old son for 2 weeks all inclusive in may staying in Torba.. We have no idea how much to budget per day. Can anyone give me an idea of how much things cost ie: lager/wine/shorts & food, taxis. Although we are all inclusive we like to explore & go out for meals.

Hi ,

Torba is just outside Bodrum and you will be able to get a dolmus ( small mini bus) into Bodrum and from the Bodrum bus station you can get dolmus to many different villages and resorts in the area. This is a really cheap way to travel (less than £ per adult ) and much more fun that taxis. Taxis can be expensive but you won't need them really as dolmus run very regularly and very late between Bodrum and Torba. As for food and drink you can pay as much or as little as you want as there is huge choice in Bodrum area. Have a look at restaurant reviews on Trip Adviser for some ideas. In general the more touristy the area and the nearer the beach front / marina the more expensive it will be. Go where the locals eat and it will be good and also very cheap. In many restaurants they give huge portions so you can often share food rather than order a dish each. Watch out for fish as it is often served and priced by weight so better to get an idea in advance of how much it will cost rather than get a nasty surprise if you pick one that is heavier than it looks.

Wine varies in restaurants but you will get a good bottle ( Turkish ) for less than £20 and it is cheaper in the supermarkets. Local beer is around £3 -£5 depending on location again cheaper away from tourist areas. Imported drinks are expensive as there is a high tax on alcohol in Turkey. Be sure to ask for local drinks if you want to keep the cost down. Most places have a drinks menu where you can check the prices first.

Enjoy your holiday - Bodrum is a wonderful location for a holiday and I think you will love it

We are also going back to Torba in june stayed there last year aswell..Torba is only a very small resort but has already been said it has dolmus quite often to Bodrum and you can get another dolmus from there to any resort on the peninsula..We have stayed in Bodrum area for the last few years in other resorts, they are all nice..Only a handfull of bars in Torba so prices tend to be more expensive than such as Gumbet..

Hope you enjoy your holiday in Torba..
