Kuala Tahan - Taman Negara day tour

Hello,

I've got 2 questions:

- driving time by car from KL to Kuala Tahan?

- is it possible to arrange a 1 day guided tour to the park starting from Kuala Tahan?

Thank you!

Hi

Its a 4 hour drive there and the same back. No much of a day!

Really don't bother!

Thank you. Is there a rain forest destination closer to KL? We are looking for a day trip only.

- should be a primary rain forest experience (but no park etc)

- managable within a full day out of KL

- the focus is more on the botanical experience

- climbing, river crossings etc is not want we really want, at least this is not the focus

Thank you for any recommendations.

Yes, i suggest you go to FRIM, just 40 min drive outskirt of KL.

Here is the link -

Thank you. Can FRIM be considered as 'real rain forest' or is it more like a park? Thank you for any advices.

I understand Taman Negara is nothing for 1 day, but is there any alternative to FRIM within a max 2 hour drive from KL?

Hi,

You can still do Taman Negara day tour by taking overnight train from KL Sentral. Senandung Wau 830pm to Jerantut arriving around 3am for the Kuala Tahan south entrance and Gua Musang 549am fot the Sungai Relau, Merapoh west entrance to Taman Negara. Return journey around 1030 pm from Gua Musang and 1am from Jerantut to KLSentral arriving 755am. Check the ktmb and seat61 malaysia website.
