Originally planned to go Osaka while making my base in Kyoto but looks like my 3 days in Kyoto is already full. Would appreciate comments on my itinerary. Thanks

1. Re: Kyoto 3 day Itinerary

I think you have some time on Day 2. Perhaps you might visit Kinkakuji and Nijo Castle on Day 2; visit Tofukuji on Day 3 but visit Nara as well. You can enjoy evening shopping (up to 20:00) around Namba/Shinsaibashi and dinner around Dotonbori in Osaka, before you return to Kyoto before midnight.

Nara is quite recommended; it is not a lesser version of Kyoto.

I skipped Tofukuji (a little far). Nijyo castle can be done on day 2.

We need your hotel location for better planning.

etitialen,

(1) Many shops in Nishiki Market closes rather early. Some close at 18:00.

(2) Bus services in Kyoto is convenient. Study this.

city.kyoto.jp/koho/eng/access/transport.html

(3) Do you like bamboo forest near Nonomiya temple in Arashiyama? Look.

(4) Shijo is not in a walking distance from Kyoto Station. Toji (East ) temple and Higashi-Honganji are in the walking distance.

Tofukuji on way back from Fushimi Inari is really easy rather than a day with Kinkakuji and Tofukuji

would go to Ginkakuji rather than Kinkakuji if there is a choice. Stop by Hoenin and be really pleased as well. Kinkakuji was commercialized and lots of people and some good "kodak" spots.
