9 days in Aomori in coming X'mas

Hi,

Is Aomori is a good place to spend in winter . I like onsen very much and enjoy seafood. What to see Aomori / Akita in 9 days? How about other places .e.g. Akita or Iwate?

Need your advice.

Aomori is lovely and snowy in winter! There's lots of nearby onsens, the closest I can think of is Asamushi which is a short train ride away from Aomori station.

Aomori itself needs 1-1.5 days to explore depending on what you want to do, you can also do a day trip to Hirosaki. And you can take a bus ride to see the snow monsters on Mt. Hakkoda.

Nyuto Onsen in Akita prefecture might also interest you: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3650.html

Iwate is also beautiful in winter. My highlight of Tohoku in winter last year was visiting Geibikei gorge: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5006.html

We have the exact same question!

Simone, what itinerary would you put together for a week coming and going from Tokyo, based on your knowledge?
