Eating out in Calis

Making our first visit to Calis (Tugay Hotel) in August. Where would you recommend going for authentic Turkish food? Hoping the Lonely Planet hasn't given me unrealistic expectations!!

The cafes in Fethiye market a few years ago looked fab, but we didn't have time to eat.

Have a look at the "wheres good places to eat" link in the top questions section.

Hi We have just returned from Calis after a 14 night stay. Our favourite was the Sunset steak and fish restaurant. We came across this by chance as we arrived late the first night and just dived into the first restaurant we came across. Provides free dips and Pide bread, free tea / coffee at the end of the meal and they have a full menu with lovely food and sunsets to die for. No hassle from the waiters. As wine is expensive in restaurants it also had the attraction of offering a half lite carafe for £5. We also visited the "Ambar" restaurant a couple of times but this is off the sea-front nearer to our accommodation (seastar) and next to a bowling green. Again the food was lovely and dirt cheap. enjoy
