Hi says on website men have to wear long trousers to buffet and woman can't wear flip flops. Is this true ?
Where exactly does it say this???
Long trousers are the norm for 4/5 star hotels everywhere.
BUT Flip Flops never heard of or experienced anyone having a problems with them !

Breakfast and lunch time?
Wear what you like,within reason.
Dinner time ?
My personal view.
I have never in all the years i have visited Tunisia wore anything other than long trousers in the restaurant at evening meal.
I actually think its lazy and disrespectful to see other men going to evening meal in gear they have worn earlier while at the pool etc.
Seen it so many times.
I am no snob.
But just my opinion.
Get washed/showered and changed !!
We do get showered and changed dont see why men cant wear dress shorts. I stayed in far superior hotels all over the world and its never been enforced .
My comment is not directed at you personally or really about hygiene -)
Just a general observation and i do post on here to assist others wanting information.
Not only the original poster ;)
Superior or inferior ?
I dont really know about that.
Not that way fussed about hotels i stay at.
Thats that cleared up ,i hope ;-)
I trust the info you got on here was helpful !
Enjoy your holiday !Edited: 12 June 2018, 04:13
Where does it say on the website that women cannot wear Flip Flops ( as I am missing something )
Hope you are well ?
We both replied to a poster JANSTE 1 back in January this year, unfortunately I cannot link the post on my phone however, she also mentioned that You couldn’t wear Sandals ?????
Like you, would like to know where these dress codes are stated.
Having stayed at the Iberrostar Averroes in Yasmine last July, both my youngest daughter and I wore summer style flip-flops, and my husband wore smart chino style shorts with a shirt/polo for dinner in the evening.
Think it’s just common sense, what the hotels don’t want are guests entering the restaurant in the evening straight from the beach !!! Have seen many people in ‘Speedo’s’ wrapped in a towel no footwear trying to get into the dinning room, real etiquette
[what the hotels don’t want are guests entering the restaurant in the evening straight from the beach !!!]
She put that better than i did and it was exactly that i was alluding to in my previous comment.
It IS the main factor that hotels introduced dress code
.Particularly long trousers to be worn by men.
15/20 years ago Tunisian resort hotels were very strict on this rule.
It has diluted somewhat over the years.

I can just see it now,
Speedo man sucking his stomach in with flip flops on trying to look fit and walking back to the table with a salad held high,
exit first door on the right,

Middle-aged,overweight men wearing budgie smugglers are not my cup of tea in the hotel canteen;-(
.Put ye right off yer hot dog and mustard;-)
Worse place in recent years we saw this was the Thalassa Sousse hotel
It was full of Eastern Europeans.
They must have had fire sales at home with the amount of bathers swanning around the pool and indoors in these thongs..... sorry things!
Gave me the boak !
Not a pretty sight at all.
