Club Tropical time share scam

Just been the victim of deliberate deception and fraud by touts and sales people in Patong. Beware! The prizes they offer are only poor quality t shirts and a week's holiday that is impossible to redeem. In Australia, consumer affairs /Fair trading would nail them to the wall!

Hopefully you only lost a few hours of your time and didn't cough up any deposit.

just been to phuket and didnt hand any money over but as a result of this have been offered 7 nights in a resort but must book within 6 months and travel within 18 months. Is it really a scam without handing any money over. just looking on their web page and seeing whats available. what are your thoughts

Christine B. I too am a PPL member and have been using my membership once or twice a year for the last few years. It is true that Club Tropical has bought out PPL and they will honour all PPL memberships. I'll be in Phuket over New Year and will be staying at Premier Suites Kata early in the New Year. We still have the Premier Suites and the Baan Puri resort (formerly Club Lersuang) at Bang Tao, plus we can also use the Club Tropical resorts now. There are 3 on Koh Samui, 1 at Bang Tao just around the corner from Baan Puri and there is another one in the process of being built at Kata. The annual maintenance fee has gone up a bit from the PPL days where it was about $275AUD, it's now about $500AUD, but that's because we've gone from having 2 resorts to chose from to having 6 (soon to be 7).

We are also PPL members and are at Premier suites Kata right now!!! Any ppl members can contact us directly at holtfamily2@gmail.com

We paid money to PPL and have had many holidays over the past 6 years. It seems that the owners of PPL have run away leaving bad maintained properties (photos can be provided on request) and leaving members feeling completely ripped off. Yes your membership can now be used at Club Tropical "at a cost" to transfer - we are yet to be told this cost.

Very sad that these "foreigners" come here and rip off tourists leaving a bad taste. We do not hold Thailand at all responsible and feel very sad that this country suffers because of these horrible people. Karma will get them!

Have you received your proposal? What is the cost for transfering the membership to Tropical Club?
