Accomodation advice ...

Hi all

Coming back to Khao lak next August ( what can I say I am a planner 😊)

Looking at 10 nights in total ... 5 of them will be at my all time favourite Chong Fah but thinking about breaking it up and spending 5 nights somewhere new as well ...

Have stayed at Apsara before and loved he beaches and the resort was nice but found it was very quiet in low season and there was nothing else open close by eg restaurants or massage ...

So looking for suggestions go somewhere beach front ... A choice of local restaurants within walking distance , massage avail outside of resort ... Distance to town not a big issue ...

Appreciate all suggestions 😊

Thanks

Chelle

Given the recent demolition throughout Khao Lak of beach restaurants personally I would hold off committing yourself for August next year until the situation from now going forward becomes more certain.

Hi Arandora, Im not so worried about beach restaurants, just somewhere close to the beach for the views and walks .. but restaurants within walking distance like Chong Fah has .. in the same street and across the road :) When we were at Apsara in low season we had to drive to anywhere to eat other than in the resort :)

thanks

You need then to be looking in Bang Niang or Bang La On/Nang Thongl Beach.

The Nang Thong Bay or Nang Thong Beach Resorts on Nang Thong Beach are excellent beachfront resorts with easy access to restaurants, bars and shops in Bang La On. Book direct. Also the Leaf Oceanside available direct or on-line book I

By sites. However, I doubt many resorts will have rates published and/or be taking bookings for August 2017 yet.

Our family is visiting Khao Lak next March and staying at the sands. We have booked with a scoopon deal which seems fantastic $999 for 8 nts. You can pay and book into Next year. Great value. We have visited Khao Lak before and last time stayed at the Marriott. Happy looking

The Moracea offers great low season rates through Australian sites like Deals.com and Scoopon. The Semsinar offers good rates direct. Both beach front and in a good location for local restaurants in Bang La On. The Kantary has great low season rates through Scoopon. A bit isolated, but located on one of Khao Lak's best beaches.

From The Nang Thong Bay or Nang Thong Beach Resorts you can also walk along the beach and go to other neighbouring hotel's beach side restaurants. A bit dearer than the myriad of restaurants up the road but they have a beach view and not much dearer at that. Not 'on' the beach mind you, but overlooking it.
