We are a couple, around 50 years old looking to travel to the Far East for the first time, end of November this year, for around 16-18 nights.
We are independent travellers usually, road trips round the USA, or exploring in Europe, and like local culture and food, national parks and nature, beaches and snorkelling, driving around and exploring.
We would like to travel business class, the cheapest method, which leads us to EVA air, travelling to Bangkok. Or Thai Air have a sale on now :)
We generally like to have our own accommodation, private villa/house not hotels, but this time may make an exception.
We looked into HuaHin a little and thought this may be ok, although beaches do not appear to be beautiful white sandy ones, and we figured with that much time, we may be best doing 2 or 3 stops.
We don't tend to like cities, but we are told that Bangkok is a must see!
So we have come up with -
Arrive Bangkok 17 November
3 nights Rembrandt hotel, 2 days sightseeing
Arrive Aonang, Krabi 19 November
8 nights Centara Anda Dhevi
Boat trips, snorkelling, temples, chilling
Arrive Khao Lak 27 November (road transfer)
8 nights Merlin Resort
More sightseeing and chilling.....
Can you offer any thoughts please!? So much appreciated, if you can.
Are Aonang / Khao Lak too similar? Should we drop one and head to Chiang Mai instead of Aonang maybe?
(should I post this elsewhere?)
I am narrowing it down, bit by bit!
Many thanks :)
