Most beachfront resorts in Khao Lak have loungers at the edge of their own property beyond what is regarded as public beach where business for hire, such as loungers, are not allowed. They are either on sand, sometimes imported by the resort as an extension to the beach or on grassed area. Where beach corrosion has taken place such as on Kao Lak (South) Beach they are across a promenade from the beach or on part of Bang Niang Beach they are set overlooking the beach at a higher level.

Thanks for your reply.
As the time to get to Thailand get near more questions arise in my and my wife mind.
Our budget is about $ 100 a day for the hotel plus the food and everything else.
Which hotel would you suggest for that price considering that we like a quite relaxing place
with deck chairs on or near the beach and a swimming beach (no rocks)?
How much is the taxi from the airport to Khao Lak hotel?
How long does the taxi take?
There is also a bus going to Khao Lak from the airport?
Thanks if anyone can answer our questions.
Q. Our budget is about $ 100 a day for the hotel plus the food and everything else.
A. Is that $100 US or AUD? It is always better to give currency figures in the country you are going to rather than coming from as many nationalities with different currencies will find it easier to relate to what it cost them locally in the local currency.
Q.Which hotel would you suggest for that price considering that we like a quite relaxing place with deck chairs on or near the beach and a swimming beach (no rocks)?
A. If you go to a search site like Booking.com you can search on your dates and your budget in your own currency. Your dates are important as prices for accommodation in Low Season (May to October are often half those in high season. Food and drink costs are the same year round, about 1000 - 1500 baht per day for lunch and dinner at a local restaurant per couple, assuming you book a hotel with breakfast. If not you can get breakfast for about 100-150 baht pp. "Everything else" could include tours (2000 - 3500 baht pp depending on what and where), drinks at bars (small beers 60-80 baht, large 100-150 baht, cocktails 100-150 baht, wine 100-150 baht a glass). If you see accommodation in your price range, come bnack and you will get information on its location and facilities. You should be aware though that beachfront accommodation is always most expensive.
Q. How much is the taxi from the airport to Khao Lak hotel?
A. Price each way with Boss of Cheaper than Hotel Taxis, the cheapest and most recommended operator in Khao Lak is from 1000- 1700 bat depending on type of car and where you are staying. Contact Boss on email@example.com
Q. How long does the taxi take?
A. Again, depending on where you are staying (Khao Lak is about 25km from the nearest to the furthest from Phuket Airport) it takes just over an hour to at most 90 minutes.
Q.There is also a bus going to Khao Lak from the airport?
A. There is no public bus service to Khao Lak from Phuket Airport. You would either have to get the airport shuttle down to the Bus Station in Phuket Town and catch one from there, or get off the shuttle at the junction of the road from the airport with the main highway and wait for one there. Journey takes 2 - 3 hours and you would have to make your way on foot or by local taxi from where you are dropped off on the highway nearest your accommodation.
Hope this helps to get your planning going along further.
