1. Re: hotel choice

Do you mean Pullman, Centara Seaview or Laguna? If so:

* Pullman - large 5* luxury resort with lots of accommodation options and great children's facilities, including Kids' Club. Located on one of the best parts of Pak Weeb Beach, the most beautiful of Khao Lak's nine beaches, with safe swimming in front. Local restaurants on both sides particularly to the right and some near the main entrance on the highway. No shopping in the vicinity. It is about 20-25 minutes north of the main townships of Bang La On and Bang Niang by shuttle or taxi where you will find most restaurants, bars and shops.

* Centara Seaview is a large 3/4* resort on split sites either side of the access road to Nang Thong Beach. Family wing and facilities is on the inland side with direct access to the centre of Bang La On emerging at McDonald's. The other wing is beachfront on one of best parts of Nang Thong Beach.

* The 4* Laguna is another large resort with a mix of accommodation types and good children's facilities. It is the last resort at the southern end of Nang Thong Beach which some accommodation and a restaurant overlook. The main entrance on the highway is at the entrance to Bang La On with its many restaurants, bars and shops on both sides of the highway.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply we are drawn towards the Pullman do you know the rough cost of a taxi to the town as we want to visit some nights and are there enough places to ear near the hotel on the other days? The grandchildren like the water slides and activities at the Pullman and have found a good price if we book 30 days in advance.Do you know if I can book a fishing trip from area or would I have to book it in town.Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again.

A new restaurant called Bambi has recently opened just the right and offers taxis to the two main townships of Bang Niang and Bang La On for 300 baht each way which is a good price. Just to the left the Rim Lay Restaurant also does taxis and you can get them outside the main entrance on the highway too. To the right of the Pullman past the beyond Resort about 10 minutes wal there this the Pason Restaurant then across the creek (there is a footbridge if the tide is in and creek too deep to cross) there is a row of upwards of 20 restaurants, bars, massage places and a small mini mart. You can get taxis to town or back from the Pullman there too, some restaurants like Elicious and Ma Ma Lek's doing it free of charge and you can book fishing trips along there too,
