You didn't give a budget but I highly recommend Nang Thong Bay Resort. It is beachfront and a small resort with great pool. I would think that the beachfront bungalows would be booked out but you might be lucky to get a garden one. Lots of places to eat and drink close by.

Or Nang Thong Bay Resort sister resort Nang Thong Beach Resort just a few minutes up same beach. Enquire and book direct at:

Nang Thong Bay Resort http://www.nangthong.com/

Nang Thong Beach Resort http://www.nangthong2.com/

These are very popular resorts and may be fully booked.

Have a look at Booking.com for your dates and budget and consider Leaf Oceanside, which is just opposite Nang Thong Bay Resort and Leaf on the Sands which is further up at the northern nd of Bang La On, the main township of Khao Lak with lots of restaurant, shops and bars in immediate vicinity and just up from Nang Thong Beach.

For a good value resort 10 minutes up the road and 5 minutes walk to Bang Niang Beach within easy access of the many restaurants, bars and shops of Bang Niang, the second largest township with its three days a week big market (Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays have a look at Cousin Resort at http://www.cousinresort.com/

Thankyou Arandora for all that wonderful information. I would prefer to stay close to restaurants as I will be alone and obviously will not want to walk too far in the evening unless it is a well lit area.

I will be staying a week Procol

6. Re: Accommodation

Early april, still quite a few places are expensive, after april 16 , more are tend to be cheaper

Cousin is a solid 3 star

you might get a bungalow room at Fanari, nice 3 star place, perfectly acceptable,

overlooked often is Sudala, its another mid priced place, rates then can be good, very close to the beach

I sometimes travel alone to Khao Lak and NTBR1 ticks all the boxes for me. Beachfront, very clean accommodation, lovely gardens and pool area and easy walk to shops and restaurants. Usually I go May and October when the prices are low season, have been four times and my fifth coming up. Very friendly staff are always welcoming.

NTBR 1 and 2 are still high season prices in april

$120 for a beachfront bungalow, $100 for garden bungalow,

also consider Bhandari Resort, not beachfront but very close. and very nice

$ 51-57, depending which part of april
