Interested in Anda Mani Resort and Manathai

We are interested in both the Anda Mani Kao Lak Private Residences (Deluxe Room) and Manathai Resort. I have sent enquiries to both hotels and am waiting for replies of availability. I wonder which of the two has the best beach and whether they are both near restaurants within walking distance. Are they a good choice for a couple who will have a hire car, just want a nice 4 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary in a quiet area with a decent breakfast. Thank you for your help.

The Manathai is in a more secluded position on beautiful Bang Sak Beach with a row or restaurants to the left across on Pak Weeb Beach and is about 25 minutes north by car from the main townships of Bang Miang and Bang La On.

The Anda Mani Resort is on Khao Lak Beach the first beach you reach coming from Phuket also with restaurants in the vicinity and many more over the mountain in Bang La On.

We've now crossed Manathai off our list. Pretty close to booking Chongfa. I wrote to Anda Mani but didn't get a response so far same with Manathai. Chongfa were very prompt with their reply (price slightly cheaper than booking online) and the only thing that's worrying me about this accommodation is swimming in front of the hotel. But it's not that great an issue. I prefer to deal with hotels that provide good service and prompt answers to emails. In a way taking so long to reply gives me an indication of the type of service they provide. Thanks so much to everyone for answering my many questions. I'm a person that is a little hesitant in booking so it takes a while for me to make a decision. Thankfully we've now done that. Now we have another six locations to figure out:-)

Chong Fah gets very good reviews so I don't think you can go wrong there.

I wouldn't read toouch into the emails and possible level of service. Thai businesses are notoriously slow with emails. I think we get used to the instant communication and expect it worldwide which often isn't the case :)

Enjoy your holiday :)

You can swim in front of the Chong Fah when the tide is out not when it is in up to the retaining wall.

I'm also very keen to get a prompt response from a hotel and agree that it's an indication of the level of service they may provide. I also like to see hotels respond to their customer reviews on TA, at least it shows they are interested in what their customers are saying.

You can swim in front of the Chong Fah when the tide is out not when it is in up to the retaining wall.

Which means for twelve hours a day they can swim in front of CF.

So, unless they are insomniac mermaids with aggrophobia nursing a 24 hour a day swimming fetish, your assertion that you cant swim directly in front of the resort for 400 yrds either side would be a little misleading and therefor a terrible shame to miss out on a great hotel, based on such!

Hence my correction, sorry.

In my opinion, for whats its worth, etc.

Sorry Mark

I continue to disagree about the Bach in front of the Chong Fah. Staying in Bang Niang just back from that stretch of beach for basically the entire Dry Season every year, there have been many times regularly during the day when the tide was in when we have been unable to walk past let alone swim there and it is only fair to advise people of the circumstances they may face.

You'll be glad you did, you'll have a memorable four days at a great location.

Just to add, re the service, the staff at chongfah are super sweet.

Have a lovely time.
