There are no night only markets in Khao Lak. There is however, a large and "we sell everything" market open three afternoons to about 7pm, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, in Bang Niang opposite the Tsunami Police Boat Memorial on the highway. There are good street food stalls and bars on the market and plenty of others on the highway nearby and down Bang Niang Beach Road to the right at the traffic lights.
When there, I would recommend that you ask if there are any fairs in the area as these also have a market. I recently went to one of these and there are stalls for everything from concrete garden water features to fried insects. There was even an air conditioned marquee for clothes.
When we were there recently there was a smaller version of the Bang Niang market on Sundays, about 200m north of the Bang Niang market and traffic lights. On the same side of the highway as the main market.
It seemed popular.
North or south? The land past Moo Moo's is the site for travelling fairs and impromptu markets.
Thanks all, I'm sure to find some markets to en joy.
