Khao Lak / Krabi Hotel Choice?

Looking for hotel advice for a twin centre stay in April 2016 for family with 14yr old daughter. Like luxurious hotel with authentic feel thats not too far away from the odd restaurant along the beach. We tend to stay away from very busy spots, but more than happy from a stroll/cab into local towns.

Aiming for a week in Khao Lak, 4 nights Elephant hills, and a week in Krabi (not sure which way around though at the mo).

These are Khao Lak's 5* Resorts,

- starting from the north on Pak Weeb Beach, the most beautiful of Khao Lak's beaches and which is about 20/25 minutes from the two main townships of Bang Niang/Bang La On where most restaurants, bars and shops are to be found. There is a VERY popular three afternoons a week market (Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays) in Bang Niang.

* 5* Adult Only Beyond Resort - a row of restaurants to the right across the creek and a few more outside the main entrance.

* 5* Pullman Katilya Resort (formerly Le Meridian) - next door to the left of the Beyond with same access to beach restaurants to the right and Rim Lay to the left then more around the headland on White Sand Beach

* 5* Sarojin small luxury boutique resort - on the other side of White Sand Beach from the Pullman, so just three restaurants thereon its right and two more including the excellent Boatyard on stunning Coconut Beach 400 metres or so to its left.

- on Khuk Khak Beach which is immediately north across the creek from Bang Niang Beach. A long, beautiful beach with only a handful of resorts spread along its length including

* 5* J W Marriott - large resort with huge pool with all ground floor rooms having direct access to it. Just a handful of restaurants/massage places to its right, a couple more to the left and a few more near its main entrance. About 10/15 minutes by shuttle/taxi from Bang Niang/Bang la On.

* 4/5* Adult Only Haven Resort - brand new resort, not completely finished yet but should be established by April 2016. Another resort with huge pool. Just a few local restaurants nearby and 10/15 minutes from Bang Niang/Bang La On by shuttle/taxi.

- on Bang Niang Beach with easy access to many restaurants, bars and shops and Bang Niang Market

* 5* Casa de la Flora - all individual villas with private pool and hi-tech facilities in the villas. Although direct beachfront, successive years beach erosion on this stretch so the resort is perched overlooking the beach/ocean on its own sea wall defence.

If you want to see all the 4* and 5* resorts have search on Booking.com for your dates then ask for more information on any.

If you stay in Khao Lak first, Elephant Hills is about 75 minutes north east from Khao Lak, then just over 2 hours to Krabi. Ao Nang in Krabi is about 2hrs 20 minutes from Khao Lak then 2 hours to Elephant Hills if you do that. But it depends which airport you are flying into/out of Phuket or Krabi and where you are going to from your last stay.

Hope this helps.
