Please NO photo taken with wild animal!

Hi all

Last night we went to Bangneang market and saw two guys with small monkeys asking people to take a photo with the fee. Please DO NOT support these people. These so cute animal taken away from their mother from a very young age. Sad but true to take away these baby from its mother, the mother must be kill!!

Please think before you hand over your money to these killers !!

Totally agree Pea - we should have this pinned at the top of the Thailand Forum page.

This has been reported previously throughout the last season and has been the subject of previous topics on here and FaceBook. Locals have reported the matter to the police who, sadly, stand by and do nothing even when the men and a woman showing various creatures threaten people who try and tell visitors not to take photos and/or pay money. They were chased away from Phuket and should be chased away from Khao Lak and everywhere else.

Waste of time I'm afraid - call me cynical but most tourists want a photo and could care less.

The only way is get the BIB to do something and I dare say the BIB are running these photo ops. ;)

I agree sweet pea. The more voices the more likely to be heard & taken notice of.

When we were there in April we didn't see the monkeys but there was a guy trying to be inconspicuous (sp?) with a large iguana? We had kids who wanted to look more closely but we are educating them & didn't allow them explaining why.

One step at a time

Unfortunately the majority of visitors to Khao Lak are not TA members so won't see the warning. The local newly formed Tourist Police have also tried to do something about it with no lasting success. It stops for a while then starts up again.

Trust me one voice or many - it won't make a difference in this lifetime however I understand the frustration and reason to be heard.
