Are the jelly fish an issue all year round ? I'm going Ito Khao Lak in June
There are jellyfish all year round but they are not an issue all year round nor are they more common on certain beaches. Their presence varies according to the ocean conditions. The sea is rougher in the Wet Season (May to October) so their presence is more likely but having said that greater care should be taken going in to the sea throughout the Wet Season because of currents and the ferocity of the waves. There are no lifeguards or warning flags flying except at a few other larger resorts who also sometimes post jellyfish warnings.
Thanks for that appreciate the advice
Watch out for the sea urchins too, we were at the Sensimar in March, my husband trod on one and we had to go to the local clinic, all sorted though, the driver from the Sensimar even waited for us!
Ouch! That didn't sound fun, does travel insurance cover that kind of stuff?
Thanks for the reply
Thanks I'll take that on board
