We used WOW Andaman two weeks ago to go to Koh Tachai. The company was great and our guide "Arty" was brilliant.

He did explain to us at the start of the day that it was going to be busy on Tachai that day and he would try to tailor the day around the crowds. A bit difficult to do when you have 30 boats (times 40 people per boat) arrive on the island at the same time. Dont know about smaller groups as most of the boats are the same, with 30 to 40 people per boat In the end, we did the snorkelling after lunch, which meant there were only two boats in the water at the same time as us.

Try to avoid the weekend as it seems many local Thai's travel to Tachai on the weekend.

Lunch was fantastic. Not sure about WOW being more expensive than others. We negotiated a price and they were as cheap as others.

That's what it was like.

Not the ideallic alternative location it used to be.... more like Maya Bay on a Phi Phi island tour!!

Apparently that weekend was particularly bad with about 75% of the tourists being thai.

As suggested, avoiding the weekend may help.

As we were.

On our boat, there were the four of us, 3 people from Argentina and the rest Thai. All a good crowd.

Perhaps they don't pay the farang price.

The price into the national park is now 200 baht for a foriegner and 20 baht for a local.

I have no opinion about WOW, but I've done Tachai with Sea Star (two years ago) and with LOVE Andaman (a week ago), and Sea Star was better by far. Better food, better boat and better service aboard.
