"After The Wave "

Just watched this very poignant show on Australian SBS television, about the 2004 tsunami and the horrific aftermath endured by so many, even today.

I teared up a few times..i don't do that easily...

if you get a chance watch it......

and please patronise the many local family businesses in khao lak.

they may have recovered on the surface, but need our support and friendship .

Enjoy Khao Lak for the wonderment it is today

Hi

Watching as I'm typing. I remembered we were just landing in Bangkok and watched the news as we just about to clear immigrations. It was indeed very sad.

It was the aftermath of the tsunami that first got us interested in Thailand when the tourist authority pleaded for tourists to visit.

Having never looked back we now visit every year but I for one don't want to feel the pain of the Thai people as I don't think I could get through it tearless.

Roll on 2015 for our eighth visit.

Watched it too, very moving and difficult to get to sleep afterwards but well worth watching. Such a beautiful place and such a tragedy, so many not recovering their loved ones - my heart goes out to them.

Unfortunately the film content is not available currently outside Australia.

Looks like it's on Discovery Channel from 12am to 2am which is a pity as I've cancelled our subsciption to Sky while we are out here!
