September weather

Hi all We are planning to be in Khao Lak mid September next year. Weather wise, will it be too rainy to enjoy or is it just short bouts of rain intermittently? Temperatures then? Thanks.

September is wettest month throughout Thailand "usually" so expect rain but for how long and how much is anybody's guess these days. See previous averages at weather-and-climate.info/…Thailand

We were there in the middle of September this year and to be honest I dont think I would go at that time of the year again.

Weather was wet and windy a lot of the time and most of the restaurants were closed.

Now you get great deals on hotels at this time but weather beware!!

We have travelled to Khao Lak for 1 month during August for the past 4 years and find the weather more than acceptable. This year was the wettest we have experienced, with about 5 days out of 30 that we would describe as a bit miserable with rain on and off for most of the day - temperature about 24 degrees.

The rest of the time there were either short showers on some days - temperature about 26/28 degrees or beautiful clear days - temperature 28/32 degrees.

Imagine having all those wonderful beaches to chose from and almost know one else to share with!!

Would have to disagree with the other OP about most restaurants being closed. Yes, a lot of the beach side restaurants are closed, this year especially with the military coup, but a lot of restaurants are open in Bang La On and Bang Niang and adjacent to the larger resorts. Certainly you could find 50 plus restaurants open and the odd beach restaurant, especially at white sand beach and adjacent to the Mai Khao Lak and Beyond resort.

It's a punt with the weather, but we find low season in Khao Lak better then end of winter in Perth and possibly better than early spring in Tassie?

Sounds like the weather in Khao Lak this November has been worst than August, so you never know.

Certainly worth considering.

I think August is a better month than September which is quieter and more restaurants do take a break before next High Season on September.
