Water activities March 2015

Hello, will be taking a trip to Phuket mid March 2015 and decided on a hotel in Nang Thong Beach for our stay - The Sands. I have been trying to google but cannot find too much information if there are any places that Hubby can hire a Hobie for a few days as our hotel doesn't look to offer anything like this.

thanks in advance for any info.

Why not say small sailboat then?

"Hobie" is a specialist term that most people wouldnt know. Its also a brandname.

They make kayaks as well.

They make sunglasses as well. Like saying where do I hire a Rip Curl?

Sounds like advertising.

Some hotels hire out kayaks but small sailboats I havent seen.

Khong, no need to get upset, in Australia everyone calls them a Hobie, different cultures different terms.

This is an international site.

Lisa - we've stayed at Nang Thong Beach 4 times since 2012, haven't seen a Hobie or anything similar in the area.

Thanks Tezzat. I can let Hubby know in advance and prepare him for some "down time", he's not particularly good sitting around sun baking like I am but I'm sure with a good book, cocktails and a couple of day trips it'll be fine. Looks like a stunning part of the world! Can't wait.

Hobie is a common term for small sailboats internationally at resorts that offer that facility as most of the sail boats are Hobies. Most tourists know that and this IS a tourist forum.

Sorry for the distraction and no confusion for most people. KhongChiam is becoming famous, or should I say infamous for causing that. Not even sure he has been to Khao Lak with the lack of "knowledge" he displays. There are 3 resorts, the Le Meridien and Sarojin on different parts of Pak Weeb Beach and La Flora on Bang Niang Beach that offer Hobies for guests. They may be available for private hire to non-guests. You can enjoy a pleasant 20 minute or so walk north up the beach from the Sands across the creek onto Bang Niang Beach and ask at La Flora.
