Photos of Khao Lak Beaches after Clean Up

I've just received some photos of the northern end of Pak Weeb Beach from the Creek near the Mai Khao Lak to the one just before the Beyond Resort. Building on Cruisemonkey's initiative to list the beach restaurants remaining after the recent removal of illegal ones, I thought photos of the cleared beaches would tell more than a thousand words could.

See them at https:/…

I will keep that link up to date with any more that I receive and add new ones for any other beaches I receive copies of.

If anyone has any more that they have in web albums, could you please add in a reply.

If anyone wants to add their pics to my albums contact me by PM and I will supply my Email address for you to send me copies which I will then upload and share in this topic.

That's what the photos show is happening. The onus is being placed on the business owners to clear up the structures at their expense rather than the locall authorities at their expense.

To the left of the Ramada resort ,is a filthy mess.

The beach has half destroyed huts lying about ,the mess the tide has swept in could set up a household! So varied is the junk.

Such a shame ,hopefully it will be clean one day.

In front of the a Ramada is fine.

Yes, it's a shame that those people who illegally built the structures, paid no rent and no local taxes, should leave the mess created when they were demolished leaving the cost to fall on local taxpayers who do pay their taxes. :-(

The mess the tide washes in is not really associated with the demolished huts.

Visiting a number of years in low season, you see another side to the beach environment. Often large amounts of rubbish wash up on the beach or down the creeks.

One of the benefits of the beach bars was they always kept their section of the beach clean, as do most of the resorts.

After a very heavy storm one day, we watched the staff at the Peter Bar collect what seemed to be a tonne of rubbish wash into the ocean from a nearby creek.

The beach went from a rubbish dump to a sandy beach in an hour.
