your joking right. where there are men, alcohol, there are female entrepreneurs. you're just not looking with the proper eyes. take the rose tinted goggles off.
granted, not as in your face or as many......but..............
i have heard nothing, but,if they are obvious,i dont think they will last long.i have been for a drive around, and asked,i have heard nothing, there was one near monkey bar, they have relocated to near the market in bang niang, but i would not call it a lady bar.there are 3 girls in there charging what they can for a beer, but it has been shut for a while.
thanks, it was the one near the market that I heard about.
and yes, UdomLA, off course it goes on but the nice thing about Khao Lak is that it isn't in your face and there were no obvious lady bars in Bang Niang - even with the rose tinted glasses on. It's one of the reasons that it appeals to so many of us.
Entrepreneurs in Khao Lak, whatever next?!
i haven't been down that way in a bit, but can think of 3 off hand. nothing like patong or patts, but not exactly hidden either.
with so many bars there, sure a few more have entrepreneurs in the wings, even though main draw may be 'pool' bars or karaoke.
Andy lives in Khao Lak, we stay there for 5 months every year from November to April and am not aware of any there when we left in April. There have been a couple of attempts that were very short lived. Perhaps you can advise where the ones you saw without your rose tinted goggles were? ;-)
Just because they are a feature and are welcome in other parts of Thailand doesn't mean they were, are or will be in Khao Lak. It may be near to Phuket and has a lot of Phuket investment but thankfully it has its own particular feel - and long may it remain that way! Everyone thought it was the beginning of the end when McD's opened and would soon be followed by Starbucks, KFC and other western commercialism. Didn't happen and again hope it won't.
I thought the thread title was ladyboy bar at first :) :).
That's the handle for the ones with a handle. I always use the handle girlie bars for the ones without a handle.
.rose, violet and tha bar, geared toward tourist, and other bars with, though not strictly girlie bars. still very much not in one's face though. not always on the menu, but available for take away.
lady bird bar also, but any and all may have closed, as box bars do all over thailand. usually westerner managed by some idiot who thinks patts and bangla rd work every where in thailand, only to fail miserably.
so many have opened and closed in Udon since I've been here, that i don't have enough fingers and toes to keep count. along with all the ones changing hand to the next sucker.Edited: 23 July 2014, 22:47
