White Sand Beach

A friend had mentioned visiting this beach some time ago, also checked out the post under Top Questions however this is also quite old.

Can anyone give any info on this beach and is it worth a visit. As we will be in Khao Lak shortly is it safe swimming at this time of year and will any restaurants be open for lunch near by?

1. Re: White Sand Beach

There are three restaurants/bungalow resorts on White Sand Beach, all of which are closed for the wet season. This part of Pak Weeb Beach which is the most beautiful of all of Khao Lak's beaches is arguably at its best when it is deserted in the Wet Seaon as in the Dry Season it is Khao Lak's most popular day trip with rows of loungers stretching along its width and down to and sometimes beyond the tide line. So if you fancy a long walk along this beautiful beach it is worth a taxi ride there. The nearest restaurant that will be open is the Rim Lay to the north and around the headland but only when the tide is out because of dangerous rocks. Swimming here or at any of Khao Lak's beaches is inadvisable because of currents and potential rip tides with only a few resorts having their own lifeguard and flying warning flags.
