Sentido Gracelands Resort

The long awaited official opening of the Sentido Gracelands Resort, the furthest north mainland resort in Khao Lak at the far end of Bang Sak Beach took place in early December. So on Boxing Day we took a ride up there staying at Happy Beach, one of the local restaurants set up nearby to capture customers from Gracelands. We then had a walk around the resort, which was pretty well occupied, mainly it appeared with guests from France as all notices were in Thai, English and French and various daily activities arranged and taking place (such as Aquarobics and beach volleyball) a hallmark of resorts popular with French tourists. All the accommodation and facilities are complete apart from finishing touches to the beachfront villas and I have to say we were expecting the landscaping not to have bedded in. However, no expense seems to have been spared in using well established plants and trees and the grounds are really nice and well thought out. The design and architecture of the features in and around the main pool is unique and striking as you will see in the photos at https:/…

The resort has a main restaurant and an Italian one, a Bowling Alley and beachside cinema under the stars, There are local restaurants on the left on Bang Sak Promenade, on the right on the beach and near the main entrance so guests do not have to rely on the 25 minutes or so into Bang Niang or Bang La On for dinner but there are no shops in the vicinity.

We will try for an internal tour of the accommodation and add photos to the album in due course after the Peak Season is over.

Wow, they sure threw heaps of money at this one, the foliage is amazing.

it looks like it has been there for years

I presume its going to marked to the mass package groups , interesting how full or not it is in the quiet months, already there are some reasonable prices..

The Thailand Tourism strategy has been changed from mass tourism to "Quality Tourists" whatever that may be and the resort features on most on line booking sites as opposed to package brochures. So it's appeal should be to independent and group travellers. Facilities like the bowling alley and cinema together with very attractive rates should be attractive for families from Europe in the Low Season when it is school holidays.

Great pics.alan. Looks like it will give the established resorts a run for their money.

Never ceases to amaze me how quick local eateries set up around these places, only a matter of time before it gets a 7-11 and the like.

All the established palms were already there ,some were moved but part of the building deal meant that the resort was built with the surroundings the priority and the land owners wishes that the plantation was not completely ripped up, which was good to hear and gave the developers a challenge.
