Come to Khao Lak

Sadly it would appear that the protests in Bangkok have had a knock on effect on bookings and cancellations in many resorts, big and small, throughout Khao Lak. For instance, there are rooms available at the very popular and usually to book except well in advance Nang Thong Bay and Nang Thong Beach Resorts and resorts are offering very attractive rates on various booking sites.

So first if you have booked "Come on Over" what is going on in Bangkok features in the news and in conversations but no other impact. Second, if you are thinking about booking, now is the time to do it.

The weather is glorious and the beaches are gorgeous so come and join us in Khao Lak. :-)

It's absolutely great here at present. Hot, sunny and relaxed, nothing nicer! The protests and political issues in general are not an issue here or anywhere we've been on this trip!

Come to Khao Lak, but not until the 28th (when we leave) ;-)

Such a shame, people are missing out, khao lak is a world away from bangkok. It's beautiful. That said though, we spent two nights in bangkok before coming here and it was absolutely fine and we have two more nights at the end of our trip in bangkok too and we are not worried in the slightest. Don't want our wonderful holiday to end.

Stay for as long or as short as you ant/can afford. Us? We stay 5 months! :-}

If you give an idea of your budget for accommodation, what type (a hotel or bungalow resort), what location (on or near the beach), near main areas for restaurants, bars and shops or don't mind being on a more secluded beach with local restaurants nearby but prepared to go into main areas by shuttle or taxi, it will help with accommodation suggestions.

There is loads of information on the right in the Top Question FAQs including the main areas, Things to Do etc.

Whitelip

Most of long term rentals will be booked and occupied now. However, smaller bungalow resorts with vacancies would be glad of a 2 month+ rental. See list of accommodation at www.seadragondivecenter.com/accommodation.htm

The Phu Khao Lak and Khao Lak C-nior resorts are a good place to start.
