Accommodation on safe swimming beach with kids April 2014

Hi

This will be our 4th trip to Thailand and 3rd one with our babies (aged 2 and 1)

We are looking for nice accommodation on a white sand beach that is calm and safe for swimming in April. The Sarojin , unfortunately for us, does not allow young kids, but it seems to be on a nice beach.

Also we want to be within a short walk to restaurants and supermarket.

We have never stayed in Khao Lak, we are not looking for a party, but we like to walk around/shop/eat at night, is this possible in KL.

We have been to Samui (chaweng) but prefer the food in Phuket, we have stayed in kata noi and loved it but it was a bit annoying paying a lot of money for a taxi over to kata or patong whenever we wanted dinner. We considered Kata but the beachfront resorts are out of our budget (max about $200 a night)

Thanks in advance

Try the Sanfds by Katathani. Beachfront on nang Thong Beach and entrance on highway at northern end of Khao Lak within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars and shops. The Mai Khao Lak is another great family resort on a better beach up from the Sarojin past Le Meridien but only local beach restaurants and a small minimarts nearby and 25 minutes to Bang La On.
