Hotel help

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Khao Lak that can accommodate 3 people-perhaps for people? We are 3-4 adults looking for accommodations where we can all be together but have some separation (perhaps a 1 bedroom unit with sleeping accommodations in the living area?).

We like a local feel (nice but don't need luxury), pool, on beach near attraction.

Right now looking at Khao Lak Beachfront Resort, Khao Lak Resort, Khaolak Bayfront but not sure any of these can provide what we're looking for.

Help please!

Stayed at Khao Lak resort a couple of years ago. We were three adults so had adjoining rooms with a door between. Lovely pool, good breakfast, lovely staff and clean beach.....only problem it rained and it rained!! Short walk to the main street with many restaurants etc - must go to the 'monkey bar' so nicknamed for huge picture of monkey on it's wall (assuming it's still open?) L.

Whoops SORRY just looked and the hotel renamed to Khao Lak Palm Beach Resort - sure it didn't have the 'palm' in it two years ago!!! L.

Khao Lak Resort and Khao Lak Palm Beach Resort share the same beach (Sunset Beach) but have always been separate reports. The Khao Lak Resort will be re-opening shortly after refurbishment over the Wet Season.

If you go to Booking.com put in your dates, under Guests choose more options, then put in your requirement for your party size, it will produce a list of matching hotels. You can then come back for information/views about them, location, proximity to restaurants etc.

Relatively speaking there are not many resorts that allow 3-4 adults in one room. It is usually two adjoining rooms or some, like the Orchid Beach Resort, have family rooms. Alternatively the smaller bungalow resorts are great value and you can probably book two bungalows for less than two hotel rooms. The Cousin Resort where we stay has 2 two bedroomed family bungalows that would suit your party size - see http://www.cousinresort.com/ and is in a great area, one road back from beach and the restaurants, bars and shops in easy walking distance. The Ayara Villas just up from Cousin also has family rooms. Here's a link to a comprehensive list of accommodation in the various areas of Khao Lak www.seadragondivecenter.com/accommodation.htm
