What is the best route to fly from the uk? Do you have to go via duabi or are there other options?

Hi

I don't know the UK route but there's no airport in Khao Lak. The closet one is Phuket airport and further up is Krabi airport.

Let's assume you want to fly from Manchester (Manucaz seems to be a clue) and you only want to go to Khao Lak with no stopover on the way there or back. As Sweetpea says the nearest (and best) airport to fly to is Phuket which is just over an hour away. First there are no direct or non-stop flights from Manchester to Phuket. These are among the various options:

* Fly Emirates (change in Dubai) then non-stop to Phuket.

* Fly Etihad (change in Abu Dhabi to Air Berlin) then non-stop to Phuket.

* Fly Qatar (change in Doha) then fly to Kuala Lumpur, stay on plane and then non-stop to Phuket.

In each case your luggage will go straight through to Phuket.

* You can also fly Singapore Airlines via Munich then Singapore then change airlines to Phuket

* You can fly to London or Amsterdam or Frankfurt and pick up non-stop flights to Bangkok, have a stopover there if you want then another airline to Phuket. If you fly on one ticket with no stopover in partnership with certain Thai airlines your luggage will still go straight through.

Use Skyscanner at http://www.skyscanner.net/ to find flights for your dates but go direct to the airline to book. The cheaper prices offered by 3rd party agents often either do not exist or are much higher when you get through to them. Alternatively phone or go into Trailfinders (one on Deansgate). They are well established, offer great advice and usually very competitive prices. They will also help with accommodation but come back here for views on any you are considering or if you want suggestions tell us your budget, what kind of areas you would like to stay at and type of accommodation (hotel or bungalow) for further help.
