Marriott, restaurants, bars

Will be staying at the Marriott, are there any restaurants, bars etc within walking distance, also where do we go for a bit of nightlife, shopping, food, bars etc. do we need transport, if so how do we get to our destination and where IS this destination?

You will find this post explains why, if you are staying at the JWM this Wet Season (now to end of October) you will probably find the nearby restaurants closed or ready for closing tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g297914-i10908-k…

The nearest main townships where there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops are Bang Niang,10 minutes away by taxi (outside main entrance) or hotel shuttle and Bang La On 15 minutes away (where there are most).

There is a market in Bang Niang opposite the Police Boat from about 2pm to 7pm, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
