What's happening in Bang Niang tonight?

Hey guys,

Just went down to Bang Niang markets - there was a siren thing went off and then heaps of police and ambulances, plus helicopters. Does anyone know what is going on?

Not sure, saw the helicopter go over but 15 mins later a big firework display seemed to go off.

Apparently it was a tsunami drill according to the staff at the ramada! I was worried for a little while there when we saw people laying on the ground pretending to be casualties before we found out what was happening!

It was a ful Emergency Services drill. Pictures posted on Facebook showed it be very realistic indeed. The Thais certainly love the blood and gore! It comes to something when I have to tell a friend who lives near the site what is going on from over here in UK.

We definitely freaked out a bit when we walked past the field of 'dead' people so very realistic. Our sighs of relief when we found out it was a drill must have been audible lol
