Accom for family of 4 in early April 2013

Hi, can anyone suggest a nice resort to stay in KL which is close by to night markets/shops for approx $100-$120 AUD a night. We have 2 small children so we want a clean resort which offers some activities. We were looking at the Ramada but they now want over $170 a night which I think is very steep for Thailand! We are already staying at the JWMarriott for 3 nights (got a great deal on TravelZoo.com) but would like to stay somewhere closer to the action for a few nights. Because the kids are young we don't need a 2 bedroom place but would rather the kids in the same room as us. Thanks.

Have a look at Laguna Resort in Bang La On and the nearby Nang Thong Bay Resort or Nang Thong Beach Resort, the new Sands Resort on the other end of Nang Thong Beach, all handy for restaurants, bars and shops. Then in Bang Niang, the Furamar Courtyard or Beach Resort, Ayara Villas or Cousin Resort, again all handy for beach and other restaurants and cheaper than Ramada. The Orchid Beach Resort is graeat but you would need to travel into Bang Niang or Bang La On.

Nang Thong Bay Resort One was great value for money. Our room was right up by the beach, and we did not pay 5 star rates. The sea is quieter around the lighthouse (beacon).

Thanks so much for this info.

Arandora, do you know if the Furamar is the same place as Fanari? Everytime I google Furamar the Fanari comes up and they have courtyard and beachside places.

I'm leaning towards NTBR... Thanks JG :-)

Yes it is, rather. yes they are. The two separate resorts, the FX Furamar and the Fanari are now part of the FX group but branded as the Fanari Courtyard (previously FX Furamar) and Fanari Beachside (previously Fanari Beach Resort). Both offer good value for money prices. The Courtyard is one road back from the beach with hotel type accommodation overlooking the pool with some pool access rooms and a restaurant, then there is another block one road back with bungalows around their own pool. The Beachside is about 300 metres up and directly on the beachfront with direct sea facing bungalows then others behind overlooking the pool and adjacent to the restaurant.
