What time does the show start and how early should we go? Can you recommend a good eating/drinking place nearby?

They used to open the bar from about 8pm with show starting at 10pm to about 11.30 but most people arrived about 9pm. Possibly one of reasons for moving is to get more people there for drinks now.

If you like Isan cuisine the Khau Niau is just up the road from it opposite the Police Boat. Chiang Mai based cuisine the Hill tribes is just down the opposite way on the other side of the highway.

Very spicy, very different Northern Thai cuisine. One of most famous dishes being Papaya Pok Pok, spicy Papaya salad. The Khai Niau (which means Sticky Rice, another speciality) has the largest selection in K L - about 25 - plus many other specialities. The Hill Tribes is excellent too. Try both! :-)

Have a look at this video of clips from a typical Moo Moo show www.youtube.com/watch…

Shows start about 10pm until about 11.30pm. Entrance is free, just pay for drinks. A bit more expensive than bars but given entrance is free it's still a good late evening out. Khao Niau will be a great place for a pre-show dinner, only a few minutes walk along the highway south in direction of Bang La On.
