Kaho Lak November????

Hi everyone!

OK, after my previous post looking at where to go in Thailand in November It seems we need to be on Adaman Coast.

I seem to have narrowed it down to 3. I know nothings guaranteed but where do you think would be the best bet for a much good weather as possible?

I seem to be swaying more towards Khao Lak at the moment.

We want Idyllic looking beaches, bars and restaurants to visit (that arnt too expensive) Watersports and boat trips to secluded beaches and other islands.

Would the seas be calm at this time of year?

1. Re: Kaho Lak November????

We were at Khao lak at the very end of November but mostly December and had lovely weather with just one or two downpours.

We have been to Phuket twice though earlier in November and had good weather there too with maybe a bit more rain early evening sometimes. I would be quite happy to go in November again.

Don't know about your other two on your short list, but Khao Lak ticks all of your boxes and in relation to the wetaher, we spend November to April every year there and enjoy November perhaps better than any month. It is the first month of the Dry Season, so everywhere is fresher and greener, not too hot and not humid in the evening. The ocean off the Andaman Coast is always constantly moving and susceptible to rougher water at high tide and full moon but in November is generally quite calm.

Same as your other post:

Khao Lak - better for the variety of restaurants, bars and nice beaches, from there easy to visit Similan Islands, but much further to visit Phang Nga Bay, Phi Phi etc. 75 minutes north of Phuket Airport.

Krabi (Ao Nang) - lesser choice, but still enough - very easy access to places like Phi Phi, Poda Island and Phang Nga Bay, beach not so good, but Railey Beach nicer and only 15 minutes by long tail boat. Easy access with direct flight to Krabi and 30 minutes transfer time to Ao Nang.

Koh Lanta - the most laid back of the three, good beaches, easy access to Phi Phi etc. Probably slightly less choice of things to see and do compared to others and nightly entertainment tends to be of the bamboo beach shack variety. Probably the hardest of all 3 to get to, direct flight to Krabi and then road and ferry transfer of a couple of hours.
