FX Resort Khao Lak

Hello!

I had made a reservation for June 2012 at FX Resort Khao Lak. I just realized that it had been changed to Fanari Resort Khaolak. However, I also found out that there is another hotel at the beachfront called Fanari Beach Resort & Spa. The pictures don't look the same and they have different addresses too. Now I am really confused. Can anybody help?

They are different properties owned by the Chinese FX Group. The FX Resort was originally the Bang Niang Beach Resort and the Fanari was the Golden Sands.

The FX Resort is the larger resort, with one block with hotel type accommodation surrounding the pool and restaurant, and another block of bungalow accommodation one road back also with its own pool.

The Fanari is just down the road from the FX Resort and is located beach front with some bungalows and restaurant overlooking the pool and others directly overlooking the beach.

You can see them both on this map walagata.com/w/arandora/Bang_Niang_2010.jpg - FX Resort is still shown as Bang Niang opposite the Chong Fah Resort and the Fanari is next to the Casa de la Flora.

If you have booked the FX Resort that is where you will be staying not the Fanari.

The FX Resort now seems to come under the Fanari Resort Khao Lak and the rooms at the FX Resort Khao Lak are now classed as The Courtyard Zone as is the bungalow section in the garden area. The Fanari which is down the road the rooms here are classed as The Seafront Zone. If you booked The Fx Resort then you should still be there. Here is the link to the new website.

We stayed in one of the bungalows back in February for a week. The room was fine as was the breakfast. I would say that the towels and linen have seen better days and really need to be replaced.
