Walking South from the Marriott

Is it possible to walk south along the beach from the JW Marriott or are they any physical or nautral barriers to prevent you from doing this.

I note of Google Earth there are 2 rivers on the beach on the way south .

There are creeks both north and south from the JWM. Traversing them depends on the state of the tides and the time of day. The one to north separates Khuk Khak beach from Pakarang Beach and for the most part of the current Dry Season has remained dry or easily wade able. That may change as the Wet Season approaches.

The creek to the south past the Andamania Resort runs more fully and deeply so needs some care (and wading) to cross and leads to the next stretch of Khuk Khak beach. Going further south you pass the Orchid Beach Resort and reach another creek just past the Sunset Bar and which crosses on to Bang Niang Beach. This creek also runs fast and quite deep at times upto chest high. Continue along Bang Niang Beach until another creek which if too deep to wade you can cross on to Nang Thong Beach on a "ferry" - a platform pulled across by rope by enterprising locals at 10 baht each way. Carry on along Nang Thong Beach until eventually you cross around some rocks by the Laguna Resort onto Sunset Beach at the end of which is the furthest south you can go without a boat or up onto the highway to get a taxi to Khao Lak beach the furthest south of Khao Lak's beaches.
