Great blog, great job! :-)
Thanks, great blog and photos.
That was great :) Thanks!
The cooking class you did, was that booked by your hotel?
My sister and I are keen to do a cooking class in Khao Lak, would love to go to the markets as well! Looked like you had an amazing time :)
Just go to the Everyday Restaurant which is the last restaurant on the lefyt as you leave Bang KLa On opposite the Laguna Resort for a meal and book the course there.
The open market (which sells clothes, household goods etc as well as foodstuffs) is in Bang Niang opposite the Police Boat and is open from about 1pm to 7pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The day market (which sells mainly foodstuffs) is open every day but closes early on open market days and is located opposite the Bus Station in Khuk Khak which is on the mountain side of the highway about 1.5 km north from Bang Niang.
yes, exactly what Alan said :)
Sorry! ;-) It's the time difference. LOL
Love the blog and pics....Enticing me to go back and it's working...!!
No need to apologise Alan....thank you for doing my replies for me while I'm sleeping ;)
Great reading, thanks! Good info on the restaurants that you ate at too.
I know what you mean about doing day trips being hard work with young kids (we have two boys ages 6 & 9). My issue is that seeing as we are only there for such a short time that I have so many things that I want to do, but can't seem to cram them in to the timeframe (& I don't want cranky tired kids making our lives a misery!!).
This is my plan so far & would love your thoughts on whether I am trying to cram too much in or not please???.............
We are planning on staying at Our Jungle House in a treeshouse in KS NP for the first 2 nights and doing a tour of the lake while we are there, then we will be staying 3 nights at Merlin Resort in Khao Lak.
I was also wanting to see the Tsunami Memorial & possibly visit the Baan Tharn Namchai Orphanage to let the kids play together & take them some gifts.
Also maybe Ele trek (but that is still a debatable subject that we probably wont decide on until we are actually there....) - we can do this across the road from the Merlin so that should not be too time consuming.
And of course want to check out the main township area - shopping, dining etc...
Anyhow, seeing as you travel with 3 kids of similar ages, I thought you might have some helpful tips...
Thanks, Bec :)
Thanks for the info :)
