What to do with kids on rainy days?

We are planning to stay in Khao Lak sometime between June - August next year. We will have our 2 sons ages 7 & 9 with us.

We are aware that it is the Monsoon Season & know that the beaches are not safe for swimming at that time of year, & that of course we should expect some rain!

But, can you tell me what there is to do in the area with kids on wet rainy days??? (especially if it rains every day - we will only be there for 5 days).

Your helpful advice will be much appreciated.

Elephant trek - several in and around Khao Lak of which Sairung Elephant Trek, north of Le Meridien is particularly good for kiddies as it goes through flat terrain.

Turtle Conservation Unit at Tab Lamu, 15 minutes or so south of Khao Lak or the bigger Marine Conservation Unit at Thai Mueang, 40 minutes south of Khao Lak.

Phang Nga Bay, including sea canoes and visit to Monkey Temple.

Bamboo Raft riding near Tab Lamu.

You could do a day trip to Phuket to visit the Aquarium, go to the FantaSea show or even go to the cinema.

As it is still very warm it is just fun to swim in the pool in the rain.
